Science has proven that when you are happy, your body makes a higher amount of T-cells. T-cells are the helper cells in the body. They help to keep your immune system strong and healthy. A strong immune system helps your body to fight infections and diseases.
Science has also proven that GRATITUDE is the highest known form of happiness. The CAREgiving Institute is offering a circle of gratitude for the residents of the Woodlands. Despite all the aches, pains, grief and sadness in the world, you can still HAVE A HAPPY LIFE if you want to. Some people are unknowingly addicted to suffering and sadness. If you want to be happier, consider participating in the CIRCLE OF GRATITUDE. If you change the way that you look at the world, the world that you look at will change.
The circle of gratitude is an informal gathering where we share the things that we are grateful for in our lives. By doing this, we will not only improve our health but we will also improve the quality of the human relationships in our lives. The CIRCLE OF GRATITUDE is facilitated by Stella Nsong, RN, CMC, CDP and Chaplin Bernard Harris.

Upcoming Programs CAREgiving Institute is in the process of developing several new programs to reduce the cost of care and increase wellness for older Ohioans. For more information about these upcoming programs send us an email at or call 440-358-1718
This program focuses on the care recipient and caregiver’s physical wellness. RENEW promotes diet, nutrition, body fat analysis, physical activity, fall prevention, cholesterol management and weight management. This program is aimed at using community training, classes, and seminars to promote healthy lifestyles and prolong elderly independence and wellness.
S.T.R.E.N.G.T.H.S begins with educating the family caregiver about the prevention of conditions that place older adults at risk in the first place. Next, is the creation of a safer home environment because falls are the number one reason that older adults lose their independence and required skilled and long term care. A wellness program is next and that involves the integration of adult day care, skilled therapies and restorative therapies provided in the adult day center (cost containment) and the construction of a family care plan for the management of care giving crisis. The program extends into the workplace and gets the employer and the employees involve in work life balance, improved employee health, improve productivity and cost sharing for elder care through an employee/employer eldercare ASSURANCE program. The program will serve as a backup care system for both the employee and the employer.
V.I.G.O.R. (mobile) (Vitality and Independence for Geriatric Ohio Residents)
This program focuses on raising awareness on the importance of being fit and healthy as one ages. We plan to educate adults on how to better take care of themselves in the present and lessening the chances that they will be plagued with preventable diseases in the future. This effort has the potential to lower the state’s overall Medicare spending.
We aim to help participants to establish aging milestones such as, the diagnosis of dementia and severe falls and stroke so that Caregiving can be more bearable to everyone that is involved by offering resources on how to take care of that family member, the best products to purchase, where to get required healthcare products and additional funding to aid in the expenses that elderly care entails.
